were active Notts DA members from some years ago. They were
members for a number of years and did all of their camping in their
trusty tent.
Bill was into his 90's when he passed away.
On behalf of the Committee and
all of our members who remember Bill, I send our greatest
respects and deepest sympathy to his wife Margaret and his family.

Bill Hemsley

I very sadly report the death on Wednesday 10th February 2010 of
Bill Hemsley.
Bill and his dear wife
Dorothy (Dot) were both at the very heart and soul of Notts DA. They had
been married for an amazing 65 years. They were loyal and active members
and camped with us, even right up to the most recent Goose Fair meet,
where they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They even had their photo's
taken and very deservedly starred in the Club magazine with the other 3
generations of their family (all Notts DA members).
Bill was 92 years young and I for one, along with a massive portion of
our whole Camping and Caravanning Club, have just lost one of our
nearest and dearest - a true, well respected Gentleman
in absolutely every sense of the word.
On behalf of the Committee and
every member of Notts DA including all of his many friends,
I send our greatest respects and deepest sympathy to his wonderful wife
Dot,
Norman, Linda, Paul, Michelle, Julie, all of his grandchildren and all
other members of his family
Funeral will be
held on Friday 26th February, 2:00pm at Bramcote Crematorium.
Family flowers only please; donations welcomed for the British Heart
Foundation.

Dennis Holmes

Dennis Holmes 1985
I very
sadly report the death on 1st January 2010
of one of our dear old friends Dennis Holmes. Dennis was one of our
original founder members when we split from our grouping with other DA's
in 1960. He was a very active past Committee member, serving in numerous
posts for over 20 years between 1963 - 85. He was Secretary 1964 - 68
and Vice Chairman 1981 - 82 of Notts DA.
Dennis will be remembered in
many loving and caring ways by a large majority of Notts DA
members, as the guy at Goose Fair, wearing his kilt, putting in his
maximum efforts into shouting at the
top of his voice - "It's the very last one"
when referring to the sale of his Whisky raffle tickets.
He was also the guy that took
great pride, until his recent illnesses, in offering the formal
thanks of us all to the Chairmen and members of Committees past,
at the end of each Notts DA AGM.
On behalf of the current and
past Committee members and the large majority of our members who
remember him very well, I send our greatest respects and deepest
sympathy
all
of his family and close
friends.
Funeral service
takes place 01:15pm Tuesday January 19th
at St John's
Catholic Church, Stapleford.
This will be followed at 02:15pm by a cremation & service at Bramcote
Crematorium.
