1. Wanted - Goose Fair
Steward
Do you see others
helping out at the Goose Fair meet and think to yourself - I'd like to get a
little more involved and help make it a successful meet? Do you see the
Goose Fair meet as a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to maybe
put just a little something back into our DA and ultimately our club, in
recognition of all that you are able to take out of it? Well here is just
such an opportunity!!
We are looking for your help with the Stewarding of a camping area this
year. We need a family or group to steward the Rufford area. Please come along and speak to any Committee member
about what it entails and we'll be more than happy to answer your questions.
You can also signal your interest by emailing any Committee member from
their addresses on the Committee page.
2. Central Counties Region
AGM
The venue for the
Central Counties Region AGM has been changed from that which is displayed in
the Out and About magazine. Please note that it is now on the 17th May 2008
at Greetham Community Centre. Meeting starts at 2.30pm.
3.
(New) Robin Hood World Record Attempt
So the whole of
Nottingham decided that they could beat our World Record of 606 Robin Hoods
and of course with the massive amount of almost daily publicity on the TV
and Radio, in the Nottingham and Regional Newspapers, they managed to do it.
Well we are determined to take back the record and keep it. Yes! Notts
DA on behalf of the Camping and Caravanning Club, with you our Club members
help, will do just that at the forthcoming Goose Fair meet October 2008. We
have a figure of 1119 to beat and we will be giving it our best shot. If you
are reading this or the article above and you would like to join us in
becoming World Record holders, then drop me a line with your name and the
number of people likely to be in your party. Don't forget this attempt is
open to the whole of the Club not just Notts DA.

5. Veteran Membership
At the latest Members Forum meeting there was a question from the
floor that could not be answered on the night. That question was “What are
the Club rules around the allocation of Veteran membership?
I am pleased to say that the rules are quite simple and are as follows -
The main member (first named) should be 65 years of age, in receipt of the
state pension and have completed 25 years continuous membership of the Club.
For an application form, please telephone the Membership Department 0845
130 7632
6. Letters Page
Do you have any new letters that you would like to send to the letters page? How about some comments about some of the great or not so great times that you have
had over the summer. Tell us what you got up to; any funny moments, any catastrophe's. Do you have a photo that you would like us to see? Send them to me and we can enjoy your stories or commiserate with you if it's sad.
