NOTTS D.A. CONCESSION SYSTEMS

Over many years systems have been developed to enable funds to be used to give concessions to Notts DA members.
The following is a summary of the systems that have been approved in D.A. minutes and are currently in force.

1.      Regular Campers Register (R.C.R)

This system has been part of Notts DA administration since December 1978 and has always been well documented with the rules displayed.  It identifies full members of the DA who have camped above a specific number of meets in any one camping season i.e. AGM to AGM.

To qualify for the register, each full member must have camped at a specific number of camping meets during the season.
The number of meets required is fixed by the Committee each year, together with any special meets, which will not be
considered to qualify for the register.

Any Notts DA members attendance at each qualifying meet will be rewarded by an allocation of one “star” and the
Committee reserve the right to allocate an increased number of stars in recognition of attendance to certain other meets,
an example being there are currently 3 stars in total awarded for attendance at the Goose Fair working weekend and the
 Goose Fair meet combined.

The current qualification is a total of 10 stars.

The full rules (issued in 1978 and revised in 1980 and 1986) are held by the DA Secretary.

2.      Notts DA Seniors Identification Card for Camping Meets (Yellow Card)

This card was introduced some years ago so that meet stewards could easily identify the Notts DA members who were eligible for reduced camping fees at Notts DA camping meets.  It should be shown alongside the current membership card when arriving on site.  Once in receipt of a card it does not have to be issued yearly.

The qualification for a card is as follows ‘upon reaching the age of 65 reduced camping fees, as determined by the
 Committee will be applied’.

This card can be obtained from the DA Secretary on production of proof of age. Any qualifying Notts DA member not in
possession of a yellow card may be asked to produce some other proof of age i.e. driving licence, by the steward of the
meet in order to gain the benefit of any reduced fees as applied to a specific meets.

3.      Notts D.A. Senior Citizens Concessions (Blue Card)

This system was introduced some years ago, so that, at the discretion of the Committee reduced fees for Social activities were available to Senior Citizen Members of the DA.

To qualify for this Concession Card, the member must be 65 years of age, in receipt of state pension and had 3 successive years membership of the RCR system, immediately prior to reaching the age of 65.

This system can be effectively used at any time by the current Committee.

Message from the Secretary:-
I am aware of the members who have already spoken to me and who are obviously over 65 yrs of age and will produce those cards but please if you qualify for either or both cards and I may not realise your age or qualifying status, please contact me preferably by email on ndawebmaster@hotmail.com or by phone 01773 719763 with your request."

WARNING - BBQ points are designed as a gas outlet point only.

There have been concerns over recent months that caravan users are misusing BBQ point gas outlets as inlets. This has been
brought to the attention of and discussed by the National Caravan Council , the Caravan Club and the Camping and Caravan
Club. Prior to September 2003, the LPG pressure was 37mbar for Propane and 28/30mbar for Butane. Since this date, with
the introduction of EN1949, the fixed working pressure of LPG has been set at 30mbar and appliances within the caravan set
at a maximum pressure (pmax) of 35mbar.
If an LPG propane cylinder is connected to the BBQ point and the gas fed into the 30mbar system at 37mbar, this could
over- pressure the appliances, in turn producing a "flame envelope" larger
than it should be. This could then generate bad
combustion that may lead to Carbon Monoxide gases escaping into the caravan. It is important on the
grounds of safety, that this unsafe practice is brought to the attention of caravan users, as they may
 be unaware of the consequences.

New caravans built to EN1949, should display the warning label shown here, inside the BBQ flap
